Transcultural Percussion Program

Transcultural Percussion is a solo performance and education program that explores rhythm as a living connection between cultures, histories, and contemporary music-making. Drawing on frame drums, balafon, Indian rhythmic systems, improvisation, and a broad world-percussion vocabulary, Tom Teasley creates a vivid musical experience that connects performance, storytelling, cultural context, and creative discovery.

The program is designed for presenters, schools, universities, festivals, cultural organizations, and arts institutions seeking a performance that is both artistically engaging and educationally rich. Through live music, instrument demonstrations, and stories shaped by decades of international work, Transcultural Percussion offers audiences an accessible entry point into global rhythm traditions while showing how those traditions can inform contemporary performance.
