Sharing Painting Time's success -- reviewer raves and a new download gift for you -- --
Great news on Painting Time -- it continues to garner praise from reviewers -- and I'm giving a free clip to you.
In "Modern Drummer Magazine," reviewer Robin Tollison states:
"Teasley delivers some seriously grooving organically derived beats here and it's both fierce and lovely. Unhurriedly mining rhythm, texture and improv, Teasley and friends leave us a lesson in world beat."
Check out the April edition for the full review.
The tune "Know Diddley" from Painting Time has been selected for inclusion in a best of the best of the Oasis sampler from the CD manufacturer Oasis. Up to 15,000 copies will be manufactured and promoted to radio and other sources.
Painting Time continues to be in the top 20 CDs being reported to CMJ by stations months after the radio promotion has been completed.
The funky "Good Foot Dervish" is available now as a free download for you. See article left, under the calendar.

Catch Word-Beat's Jazz Alive on DC Cable TV, airing now
Word-Beat, the spoken word/percussion collaboration with Charles Williams, has also been extremely busy performing from Louisiana to VA Beach.
We recently performed at the University of the District of Columbia (where I serve on faculty), for the Jazz Alive series.
UDC filmed the performance and it's airing now DC Cable TV. Please check it out if you live the broadcast area.
Opening March 27 is Constellation Theater's "The Good Woman of Setzuan" by Bertolt Brecht.
Live theatre and all-new percussion pieces tell the story of one-time prostitute, Shen Te, and her struggle to live a "good" life -- without letting her neighbors get the upper hand.
This second project with the Constellation Theatre follows on the sell-out performances of our last collaboration, "Arabian Nights". This time, I have created and recorded all original music in a newly equipped home studio. The raw recordings have been mixed and mastered by my favorite engineer Jim Robeson at Bias studio.
You'll get a chance to preview this drama-inspired new material, in a forthcoming newsletter.
Meanwhile, enjoy the show! Get tickets for March 27-April 20 shows at Clark Street Playhouse, or through Constellation Theatre's web site at www.constellationtheatre.org.
It won 1st prize in 458BC. The greatest of Greek Tragedies thunders with new life in Constellation's percussion-driven "Oresteia"
Running May 9-June 1 is "The Oresteia" by Aeschylus. I'm delighted to bring you all original music, and perform it for you live for a 21-st century treatment of this timeless Greek tragedy.
Experience percussion instruments that span centuries of time, from countries around globe in this unique performance.
The music produced in working with director Allison Stockman is so unusual that we have decided to jointly produce a CD of theatre percussion pieces. We'll include music from our first sold-out collaboration, "Arabian Nights". Samples of this work coming soon on my site as well as future newsletters. Visit www.constellationtheatre.org for tickets to The Oresteia -- see you at the show!
