Back from Bahrain
Charles and I recently returned from performing at the Bahrain 16th annual International Music Festival.
We were so honored to represent the United States at this festival. This was an especially exciting time because I was able to collaborate with drummers from Bahrain.
This amazing collaboration was documented on Bahrain TV. You can look for downloads as soon as we get a copy! We also participated in radio interviews and there was extensive press coverage for the whole event.
As a wonderful surprise I also collaborated with guitarist, Khalid Al-Thaeadi from the Al Ekhwa or brothers Band.
Khalid Al-Thaeadi from the Al Ekhwa was voted the best guitarist in the Middle East in a recent musical poll. I look forward to collaborating with him again in the near future.
This tour was so successful that plans are underway for a return trip in the spring. Special thanks to Ahmed Ali Al Ghanem from the cultural ministry in Bahrain and David Edginton from the US Embassy for making this dream come true.
